Posted by Connie A star crack on the bottom means that you cannot use the teapot. Pouring hot water into it could crack it wide open. Damaged items are OK for display only, but remember they won't increase in value. It is a good idea to steer clear of a damaged item unless it is very old, unusual or it is a missing piece in a specific collection. Price paid should be less than half the price of a piece in excellent condition.
