Posted by nikki as for the other books i will definitely try to pick them up as well since gaston's book seems to be a little lacking in the minton stamps area. specifically i'm looking to get a few good pieces with a little age to them for a dining room display but i'm already hooked on this pattern and can see this "little display" growing into something else entirely. i'm looking at the minton and copeland patterns to start with because they seem to have a little age to them, meaning i can find them older than the twentieth century, and i like the patterns. but i didn't realize just how many different companies produced the pattern. it really is amazing. so i will definitely need a few other resources to be able to make heads or tails of things on ebay.

thank you both for the great suggestions. i would love to have this rathbone plate but right now $100 is a little more than i wanted to spend, although it is lovely. so i'm putting all of your wonderful information in my notebook for future reference, so thanks again for filling me in.
