all you need is a little push
The great beast--and that is saying a lot, because for a great beast, he seemed to be more like a drunkard hobo in the world of feline kings--stood shoulder-deep in the rapid water. How he manged to stand in the vicious current was beyond any mortal recognition, but he manged none-the-less. His posture seemed to say that he didn't give a damn whether or not he would be swept away. In fact, he seemed rather pleased. The manic grin on his face seemed to contradict everything known about cats and their hatred of water.
Then again, Joker wasn't like the rest of them. He had learned two things in his lifetime. One was that death was natural, and thus murder was natural as well. Since murder is, in essence, the ultimate crime, then crime is the natural way of all living things. Such is why he felt no remorse towards his actions.
The second was that good was a label that only applied to oneself and evil was a label that only applied to others. Thus, good and evil were both pretentious labels used by elitists to give them an excuse to keep others down. Such is why Joker didn't bother with calling anyone by such accursed names. While Joker certainly wasn't a giving person, he wouldn't hold himself to such a low.
However, he did believe in sanity and insanity. The lines between them were blurred, but they existed. And madness was, indeed, like gravity in every way for the Joker.
Still laughing, even though the water was freezing from Mother Earth's natural time of dying, Joker shook out his messy green-gold mane. Madness. What a concept. Who would believe that one so far gone could actually think of something?
