The key is that you want to be hitting down on the ball or "pinching" it against the ground. It should feel like you are delaying your wrist snap through the hitting area and feel like you are pointing the butt of the grip towards the target. Charles Howell's swing makes it easy to see how to do it. A nice size divot that starts where the ball lies or slightly infront of it is a good sign that you are doing it properly. Make sure the divot does not begin before the ball. --Previous Message-- : Can anyone tell me how to impart spin on the : ball with my short irons?
