Try hitting (i.e. thinking of) the ball with the toe of the club face. This will force the ball away from the hosel. It works for me. Good luck
: I'm having the exact same problem and just when
: I think I've rid myself of this terrible
: shot, it comes back. I've consulted with
: a pro and I've been able to work it out on
: the driving range and it seems to come
: back during my rounds. According to the
: pro, balance is the key to the golf swing.
: Without the proper balance at address,
: the swing can be jeopardized. Try
: shifting your weight forward so your
: weight is off your heels and more toward
: the front of your feet. Extending your
: arms and shoulders forward toward the ball
: can also help promote the right balance on
: your feet. GOOD LUCK and let me know if
: you get any other tips that work.

: I'm a 10 handicap, and have occasional shanks
: that ruin some of my rounds. Once i start
: shanking i get bad thoughts in my head and
: i cant get rid of them. It seems like i'm
: hitting it off the hosel of the club. Any
: advice on how to get out of this terrible
: feeling?
