My name is Derek Schultz and I am a junior in high school. I have been battling the shanks for about a year and a half now and it isnt good for a high school golfer to have. What I did to fix this is that in my swing, I made sure that my back was to the target. Swing with your shoulders and not your wrists. Make sure that you also keep your right elbow tucked into your side. It is impossible to shank when you put your back to the target and swing through with your elbow inside. You should always have a triangle with your arms and your chest. This should cure your shanks, it did mine.
