adolescent robin

Took in an adol robin this morning. It has no tail feathers, and was in the road looking exhausted. It put up no fight, did not attempt to get away. After 3 worm feedings it is much better. Can anyone give me an idea of how frequently to feed, an idea of the optimum cage environment, and how to know it is time to release it? I would very much appreciate any help.
