My husband found a baby robin. I can't seem to get him to eat. Do I force feed him and how do I know he is ok?
Help
: I recently found a baby bird and I am
: trying to save him. At first my
: boyfriend thought he was a robin.
: Robins eat worms. So we caught some
: nightcrawlers and have been feeding
: him cut up pieces of worm with
: forceps. Try that, forceps work
: well. It kind of simulates the
: mother feeding him. I have had my
: bird for 6 days now and he has grown
: a lot. We now know he is a sparrow.
: Be careful of how much water you
: feed him, if any (you could drown
: him) Since Robins naturally eat
: worms, that is where they get most
: of their water supply. Sometimes
: you can buy worms at gas stations,
: they sell them to use for fishing.
: Hope this helps, if you have any
: more questions e-mail me, my
: boyfriends a biology major and know
: a ton about birds.
