I been taking care of a baby blue jay for the past 3 weeks and he can almost fly. I was wondering if I could get some information on what their diet should be at this stage, and when will it be ready for release--if ever? The bird's diet has consisted of crickets, worms, wax worms, supplemented with a high protien cat food and fruit mixture. I'm ready for this bird to be on his way.
