Yesterday a baby blue jay was on the ground in our backyard from the nest in one of our trees. My husband and I tried to put the bird back in the nest 3 times, each time the bird jumped back out. How do I tell if it is a "fledgling" and therefore time for it to learn to fly? We took it in overnight and fed it because it was so cold outside. I just want it to be able to thrive.
