I went to the range this morning and shot two .62 caliber flintlocks, one mt painted early English trade gun the other my big iron mounted bear gun.I shot 15 shots per flintlock limbering the sights up for the Southeastern I had no problem with the trade gun 15 shots and out. with the big bear rifle shot number 15 would not go off. I could run a vent pick through the touch hole but no fire would get through to the powder. I was able to blow the ball out with my Co2 discharger but there was a big plug on the breach a really BIG plug. When I got home I tapped a tooth pick in the touch hole stood up the rifle and poured my cleaner into the barrel after setting a few minutes I poured out the solution and started working with a couple breach scrapers it took me almost fifteen minutes before the scrapper hit the bottom of the barrel. the trade gun was cleaned easily. the powder I used was inherited fron a Friend who passed a couple years ago. this powder had been stored in an outdoor lawn mower shed for close to 20 years. I think it must have been the old powder. I wonder why it hit the rifle and not the smoothbore. I will bring NEW powder to the Southeastern
