This was the 25th Possum Branch Rendezvous and it was a great one as always.
Unfortunately this was also the last big fall rendezvous the Possums will be putting on.
A live possum was set free at the ceremonies.
To all of the Possums, Thank You! We all love you guys.
Fort de Chartres fall rendezvous
Nappy, Don and Susie Hulvey, my buddy Rich Lambert (not a Widowmaker), and myself formed a team and went down to the Fort de Chartres fall rendezvous. For those that have not been there, it's an old French fort on the banks of the Mississippi river just South of St. Louis but on the Illinois side. The fall doin's is a pretty good sized event and a pretty good one. They put on a 5-person team woodswalk.
Our team started out a little slow but pulled it together by the end to take a 2nd place. We'll do better next year.
Our 2nd place got us each a big ham and a nice blanket prize to take home.
Many of you are in the middle of deer season, just got done with deer season, or are getting ready for deer season.
Good huntin'!
And the holidays are fast approaching!
Here's wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, and a very good New Year!
Jethro
