Wizann imo. Doing the points and radius maps as well as the runs will be overbearing and too much to take in. Do it step by step and gradually build up your knowledge by doing the runs only with a few points en-route.
Whats the point of picking up points from an area you know nothing about. If you do just the runs when you go back you will be familiar with that area.
