Westie Eye Stye

I have a 9 year old female Westie who has a stye on her bottom eye lid. The vet wanted abou 800 to remove it, but said it could come back. Most vets wont give me a price without seeing it, but this seems pretty high, and I am not sure it's worth the risk. Anyone have experience with eye stye's
