I am not sure what the westie rescue diet consists off, but one of our westies (we have two) when we got him as an adult 3 year old he was suffering badly from a severe skin flare up which had got infected in his ears so after a course of antibiotics, we started to give him a pure starflower/cod liver oil supplement added to his food and this helped greatly. We also give both our westies the natures diet dog food brand and keep to high meat percentage dog food. Our vet said our dog would always be prone to skin flare ups because he had what looked at the time to be sensitive skin, but so far a year and a half on he has been fine. I think if its good enough for people to take for dry skin problems then its good enough for my dogs too. Maybe be worth a try?
