We have a 14 week old Westie pup. We've had her for about 2 weeks now. At first she ate very well each time she was fed (twice a day at scheduled times so we can better work on housebreaking her). The past few days she has not wanted to eat at all when the food is given. I finally relented and just set her food down so that she can eat when she will. She is only eating a few bites here and there, hardly enough to meet her nutritional needs. We have her on Puppy Boost as recommended by the vet when we got her. It is a high calorie food supplement that has vitamins and fatty acids. However, she only gets a half a teaspoon full a day and only late in the evening so I don't see how it would be affecting her appetite. It didn't the first week and a half.
The only thing that has been different is that she had a set of vaccinations on Monday. She did well with them, besides being a little sore. I wouldn't think that they would still be affecting her appetite but I really don't know.
Lucy is just 4 pounds 4 ounces and I worry with her not eating. To be perfectly honest, I've never had a smaller dog breed before so the idea of her losing weight when she's already so tiny concerns me. We've always had larger breeds in the past and them losing a few ounces here and there didn't make the same kind of difference.
