Hi Carol, I have had two dogs, not Westies, who died of cancer.Both had surgery but no radiation and both metastasized but both lived about a year after the surgery at least. Since you are dealing with a stage one and that is a very good sign that the cancer is not advanced and I hope you have a good outcome with the radiation if you decide to do that. I am so sorry you have to deal with this as it is a hard thing to see our dogs suffer through his. Your dogs are quite young if one of these is the one dealing with the cancer. My prayers and hopes are with them and you.
