I have two westies, they are over weight. The vet said they need to lost some weight. I have to confess I have spoiled them both, it's my fault that they won't eat unless they get table food mixed with their food. Anyway I was wondering if anyone out there thinks I should quit cold turkey with no table food any more, and offer them their dry kibble in the morning and if they don't eat it take it away until dinner and offer it again and so on? The vet says they won't starve and that they will eat when they get hungry. It really hurts me to see them beg, when we are eating, but I guess it's for their own good, right? One is about 5 lbs over weight and the other is about 2 lbs over weight. The vet also says that they will have more energy and be a lot healthier.I know she is right but it's just so hard. Please someone, what do you think?
