Dani my thoughts entirely...
There are so many websites with tips such as soaking your westie in special salts for 10 mins then cider viniger see - http://freespace.virgin.net/donald.murray1/westie_tips002.htm for more tips. My westie has eczema and I've tried antihistamines, we changed his diet ask your vet to reccomend because pet shops sometimes try and sell you anything (not all pet shops I'm sure we're just unlucky) vitamin C helps a little(also stops grass yellowing), putting socks on paws and taping with medical tape stops violent scratching and paw licking. Don't keep it on for more than a few hours it isn't fair. My westie lets me do this though, garlic.
By the way my westie is a 13 year old male and is now an old dog in many ways. I wish I could make him more comfortable. We do go to the vets when he gets a constant itching.
I once used a mild atopic cream I use for my own eczema and it worked and began to clear up his irritation straight away. I won't do this again until I check it out with my vet though. Has any one else tried this?
