The
Posted by John Buckley I Had some worry on Sunday as 2 referee's that were doing morning games felt unwell and were unable to do their 2nd game in the afternoon. Nice to see some teams like Droumree getting off to a great start and hopefully they can keep it going and also to the re formed Skibbereen A and B teams and to the new Dunmanway Town "B" team getting off to not a bad start either best of luck in your new ventures this season. I will have 1 new referee coming in fairly soon and if anybody else knows of any one that would be interested please get them to drop me a line. It's been a busy time for me since our first meeting with all the registration sheets entering all players names etc on the web site and I have been updating the web site as well and clubs now have access at any time to see their registered players on the web site and I you want to see them just drop me a line and I will give you details on how to register (Club members only). The West Cork League meeting will be on next Tuesday the 7th September (Probably in parkway in Dunmanway, I will confirm later) and the ladies teams and u18 teams have to be in by this date. I am hoping to have Niamh Spratt the Ladies technical Director from the FAI in Dublin coming to the meeting to offer support and encouragement to the new ladies teams (Again I will confirm later) Just another thing to remember is UNREGISTERED players are still being played and this will not be allowed as this was stressed at last A.G.M and now if a Unregistered player is played the there will be points deductions so please NO unregistered players. Also please mark clearly the subs on the Referee cards to show which plays play and who are subs and the referee will mark if the sub comes on or not. Thanks for your co-operation. John Buckley

Well last Sunday the leagues started and it was great to see goals galore and all games seem to have went off with no problems and pitches are reported to be in good order.
I was stuck enough for referee's last weekend as referee's were on holidays and sick and just not available and I was cutting it fine even as it was and had no referee's to spare.
It was looking like I would have to call off 2 games but thanks to Ted O Mahony the AUL fixtures secretary as he gave me 2 referee's 1 of which is now a Munster Senior League referee Damien O Mahony from Bandon who done the Clonakilty V Droumree match and also Pat Murphy a AUL referee from Cork and he done the Old Chapel V Caheragh game. Thanks again to both referee's and to Ted O Mahony.
The Ladies League and the U18 League will start mid September.
Yours in Sport.
