Best of luck to Johnny Healy, an award like this would never find a better, more deserving mantlepiece than his. With all due respect to every other board member in West Cork League, over the past 10-15 years Johnny has been the main man in making the League as successful and well organised as it is. A fair referee in his day, an accomodating Fixture Secretary, a well-organised Treasurer and a nice man to top it off.
When Johnny speaks at a WCL meeting everyone listens because he is so passionate about the League. Our club was in the Beamish Cup Final two seasons back and when I arrived at the gate in Ballineen, Johnny was taking the money. He had a smile on his face all day because regardless of who was playing or whoever won or lost, in his eyes it was a big day for the West Cork Soccer League. That is the main reason why Johnny should get this award because if we all had his passion for our work and pastimes, life would be a lot of fun.
Best of luck from your friends in Ardfield Soccer Club.
