My great grandmother's maiden name was Hogg. She was born on 8 Jul 1859 of an unknown father so she was known by her mother's family name, Hogg. She later married my great grandfather Robert Patterson on 27 Jan 1877. I have details of her ancestors named Hogg for four generations before her and other ancestors from the Wheatley, Gibbon, Whitfield, Hetherington, Parkinson, Shinkley, Proud and Taylor families going back to before about 1740.
