Sorry for the very long delay in my replying but I missed your question among the Westool nostalgia.
I have extensive family history details on file of the Patterson family both in West Auckland from about 1850 and going back to Thomas in 1750 at Brafferton with a possibility of a William Patterson from Haughton le Skearne in 1692. There are four Elizabeths in this record dating from one born in 1827 to one born about 1877. If these are what you are looking for then please email me directly. I also have the female lines going back to 1700.
If you are referring to an Elizabeth Patterson whom was a contemporary of mine at Westool in the late 1950s then if I remember, we never bothered to establish any family connection. If I recall correctly, she and I were about the same age (I was born 1941). She started at Westool as a post girl, probably about 1957 and I was an apprentice from 1956. If I also recall correctly, she hailed from West Auckland
