I cannot help directly with your query but I have just bought a copy of a CD of Memorial Inscriptions (MI) for St Helens Churchyard and for West Auckland Cemetery.
Here are some MIs from Darlington Road Cemetery, West Auckland and St Helens Churchyard which may help or not.

No Marley surnames seem not to have been recorded at either burial place.
I believe that there is a CD of MIs for Etherly but I haven't a copy. You could contact the Cleveland and South Durham FHS via their website to obtain a copy if they have one.
