Really do not know if this is any help. My maternal grandfather was from West Auckland (don't know his address there) - he was John Archibald Wilkinson (known as Jack) and was born, I think, in 1901, June 19 (died 1983 in Northallerton Friarage Hospital). He left there when he was a young man. He was in the second world war and did various jobs after the war all over the UK. He and his wife spent most of their working lives in domestic service. Let me know if you would like anything further and I will consult the family birth, marriage and death certificates!
