I should have added this to my enquiry about Johnny Heaviside yesterday. Is there any old dodger (apart from myself) still breathing in and out who remembers the "backs" in the triangle between Darlington Road, Johnson Terrace and Oakley Street ? Lots of clarts, of course, but our football and cricket pitch both during and after the war (and don't ask which war). Some of the players, like Billy Wilkinson and Georgie Stones, are sadly long dead I know, but perhaps one or two survive.
