A bow-wow is a gathering of doxie owners and their dogs. When we had one in Washington, everyone stayed at hotels close to a "home base" which was the home of one of the doxie owners. The main event was a day-long picnic in the backyard with 12 people and 15 doxies. We all hung around for about a week, doing various things such as sight-seeing and shopping, etc. So, a bow-wow is like a vacation where you get to meet a bunch of the doxie folks on the message board. I have been to two of these, and it was a blast. One time I went alone, and one time I took a dog with me. Different people host these bow-wows around the country. Since I live in Alaska, going to one in Washington state was real easy for me.
