I have used a small kong which I filled with creamy peanut butter then placed in the freezer until frozen. When I left in the morning I would give each their opwn kong and they were as happy as can be with no fuss about me leaving, but I do agree that doxies do better in a group than alone, they are very personable and want to be with someone and not by themselves. Hope this helps.
