My 8 week old Dashshund puppy

I am so Happy & upset at the same time. I Love my little guy, but have to work. I made a nice place for him a large ciral with crate toys etc but he cries as soon as I leave & put him in there. Should I be concerned Or will it pass in time. HELP I AM SOOOOO NEW AT THIS & AM NEVEROUS
