Therapy companion animals are similar to registered animals. It is an animal that is prescribed by a doctor/psychiatrist/psychologist. they are usually prescribed for depression and anxiety-and for companionship for the elderly. They assist in building self esteem, confidence, and have a calming effect. Although not considered a "legal" service animal, most landlords and complexes will accomodate a no pet policy in these cases.
