They as fast as youn feed them. What is wrong with the plastic tub i have mine in big plastic tubs with fiters air bubbles water plants . Plant light on then. You have to have a platform for the turtles to get up on to sun bath that is what the plant light is for they needthe light or sun light far there shell. I have baby and 5 years old turtles i have them in big tubs.
