I,m sorry to hear your turtle floats, you probably got a sick one,TAKE IT BACK cause it,s going to die like mine(i really hope im wrong)I had a couple of small red ears turtles ..... one started floating and died.... im not sure if it might have been a stress or sickness related problem or a handling problem(When small their shell is very soft, any kind of preasure is to much for them )either way i,m betting your turtle was already sick.
Next time you get one take your time to see if its active,swiming properly,if its eyes are clear and handdle with alot of care(small ones are sensitve)I didnīt get a refund or another turtle instead i got blamed by the shop owner for killing the turtle (3days after i bought them)(bastard)(time to find another pet shop)(if itīs sicknes it might have spread to the other turtles in the dealers aquarium, turtles are hardy animals and very resistent dead ones are usualy a sign of bad handling (transportation).
