They were/are a winner. This is not an actual recipe but a "how-I-did-it". The Kolacky Factory in Indianapolis makes all kinds of fillings. So this was my first attempt at "combinations" of fillings.
First I started with a Bread Machine "Roll" Recipe that has 3 C flour, 1/4 C sugar*, etc. Put all ingredients in BM and set on dough cycle.
In the meantime get your fillings ready.
When the dough was ready I cut it into 36 pieces****. Cover and let rise for 15 to 20 minutes.
"Flatten" each piece into a circle and top with: 1/3* of a Cooked breakfast sausage link, a bit of hashed brown potato, cooked, and a pinch of shredded cheese or a bit of scrambled egg, sausage, and cheese or a bit of fine diced ham, hash browns and pinch of shredded cheese.
Pinch dough to seal in filling and place pinched side down on baking sheet/sheets.
****BUT next time I will cut dough into larger pieces and make fewer Kolacky(s). Also, DD Barb said the dough needs to be sweeter so to 3 C flour I will try 1/3 C sugar*.
As you make each filled roll - place on greased baking sheet pinched side down and let rise until doubled in size (about 15 minutes. Baked at 375°F for 15 minutes or until browned to your liking.
I was going by 2 different recipes - 2nd recipe says to use 2-3 1/2 ounce portions (36 pieces are rather small - I will try 18 pieces next time and fill according *using 1/2 a sausage, etc).
** You can use any combination of meat filling.
Hope all this makes sense as like I said this was my first attempt.
