Posted by Wayne LIke you though I am not convinced of Traore though I disagree about Heskey. His first touch lets him down but the service he gets isn't that great. Problem is we don't play to Heskeys strengths. He is big, fast and good in the air. We don't have players that can cross the ball on the flanks where I believe a big target man like Emile would benefit. Baros & Owen are too completely different players, very fast, skilled on the ball and can beat defenders. Heskey isn't that kinda player but I think he still has a part to play. Anyway as I said some of your comments ring true - it has been a very frustrating season for everyone but I don't think O'Neill is the key. Go the Reds --Previous Message--

Some valid points there and I believe too that GH is too blame but so are the players, coaching staff, and board. Unfortunately GH, whom I still believe is the man to take us towards the future invested far too heavily in potential and perhaps really what we missed last season was Experience - hence why this summer his focus is on bringing players in of that nature.

: So, 5th place in the Premiership, not La Liga or Serie
: A,
: the Preiership...knocked out of the FA Cup at home
: to Palace in a replay 2-0, couldn't beat Basle
: (Brush) in 2 attempts, completely outplayed by
: Valencia, knocked out of Uefa by Celtic, won
: Worhless Cup (saved GH's job) and imagine this...we
: have City at home and Chelsea away to get into the
: CL. We never lose to City and never win at the
: Bridge...
: Now we all know what happened what with losing BOTH
: games, with the CL on the line - what about
: Liverpool's performances - as passionate as a 75
: year old Librarian gets when a book is returned on
: time! It was a season of embarassment. Players
: didn't perform, the manager made excuse after
: excuse, it's his job to get them to do the business
: on the pitch, that's what he's paid for.
: And what about the signings??? Duds.
: Heskey? Donkey. How anyone can defend him is beyond me.
: Traore? Bambi. I cannot believe he has played so
: many games at centre half. Why didn't we compete for
: the like of Woodgate (OK, maybe he wanted to go back
: to Newky) and Upson.
: Last year I called for Martin O'Neill - and some people
: on this website said he's only good for mediocre
: teams or players and used Neil Lennon and leicester,
: etc. as examples. Well, at least he got Heskey to
: perform! And look what he's done at Leicester. And
: now Celtic!!! They played us off the park, they
: fought, they played with passion, they stuffed us
: 2-0 at home!!! And now they're in a European
: final...and they've got players like Neil Lennon and
: John Hartson, and Rab Douglas and Mjallby. Imagine
: what he could do with Hyppia, Gerrard and Owen!!!
: Houiller has taken Liverpool as far as he can. He's not
: a bad guy, he just isn't good enough to take us a
: step further. MARTIN O'NEILL is the man for the job
: - the problem with LFC not being a PLC is that they
: won't pull the trigger. However, they have to do it
: this summer, or we're in for another season of
: embarassment and Uefa Cup football again next year.
