Regarding this issue, I think we need to be reasonable. We do not know all the issues surrounding this, and probably never will.
What we do know is that GH is a man who will not tolerate anyone acting against what he deems to be the best interests of the club. We have seen in the past, in the way he has dealt with players like Ince, Fowler and Litmanen, that he does not allow sentiment or the apparent talents of a player to get in the way.
In reality, it is unlikely that Babbel would have played for us again anyway, as he seems to have been struggling with his fitness. Obviously this will affect him psychologically, and cause him to react unhappily.
It is probably best for both parties if he moves on. If he has acted in an improper way toward staff or fans, it is understandable due to recent pressures, but still has to be dealt with.
I for one will never forget his performances in our treble winning season, where I think he was the integral part of our team, always there and he lifted us to the next level. He has been missed immensely through his illness, and if he never makes it back to full fitness, football has lost several years of a true talent.
I wish him all the best for wherever his future may take him, as a true Liverpool fan I appreciate his contributions for the time he was fit and well for us.
: Two wrongs actions will never make a right one!!!
: I still cannot figure how you manged in your mind to
: link two completly differnt actions. Moreover, I
: still cannot figure what your line of thought is.
: So, dear Liverpool fan much more than us, accoridng to
: you the fact that MB headbutted a young Everton
: player is a disgrace to LFC. Therfore, according to
: you Gerrard should as well be a liverpool disgrace
: becasue he needlessly tackled and injured Le Saux
: during the dying moments of the last PL game???? Or
: it is better to say that frustration, nerves and
: tension, unluckily enough are part of this game and
: may casue unwanted actions?
: The only questions that should have been raised were;
: Was GH right when he publically critised MB? Was MB
: right to react the way he did during that WC game?
: Personally I think that both GH & MB were wrong
: becasue the internal matters of the club should
: never be overtly displayed!
