Posted by Andrew Molyneux I may be proved wrong when (or rather 'if') they show footage of it on TV tonight here in England, but as far as I could see it wasn't deliberately aimed at Thompson. Murphy appeared tired today after his incredible exertions on Saturday in the derby. It was probably right for him to be substituted, but fair enough - he disagreed and complained. Thompson was the one in the wrong, arguing (and no doubt criticising him) in public. Thompson SHOULD have allowed Murphy to have his say, calm down and then deal with the matter in the dressing room. HOPEFULLY we won't hear too much more about it in the press, but for some reason I doubt it, as Thompson stormed off immediately after the final whistle, whereas he is NORMALLY the last to go down the tunnel. When will he grow up?

Being a season-ticket holder I was at the Charlton match today and from where I was sitting (about 20 rows directly behind the incident, in the Main Stand) it appeared that Murphy threw the drinks bottle down in frustration and it then cannoned off a seat in front of him and landed on the side of the pitch.
