June, I'm so sorry to hear about Georgia - but she did live a long life! I am pretty sure she was "27" for about 5 years, so I didn't realize she was 34 this year!
I remember learning to ride on her and showing at Pam Conely's back when that was a big "show series" for the school kids. Ironically, because she was so tall when I was 12, I used to groom Beau instead because I felt safer in that cranky pony's stall - just because he was shorter! (I think that paid off though because he was most cooperative during the times I spent doting on him).
I remember my sister and I both learning to canter on her! It's funny to think about how hard "steering" was the first few times! I also remember the one day I managed to squeeze her hard enough to get her to kick out (I don't think it was quite a buck) on the way to a jump in our old small ring!
Georgia taught sooo many camp kids faithfully. And, when I needed a confidence boost after some trials with the gorgeous but temperamental "Lily", Georgia was there to help me canter around and around safely.
Here are some old pictures of Georgia & I @ Briarwood Hollow from 1996!! 1st place! (baby Avatar is in the back of that first picture!)
I hope Georgia, Jesse, and my friend Misty from MHS are keeping each other company in some very green pastures right now!
