: Alright now fellas, how does anyone
: out there adjust their training
: schedule when the meet I've been
: training for is cancelled? I am on a
: 12 week cycle to the May 19th meet
: in San Antonio,(Lackland) and things
: don't look very good at all. I guess
: I'll shoot for the WABDL meet on
: July 14th by Tiny Meeker. But how do
: you adjust WITHOUT OVER TRAINING?
: It's gonna be very disapointing not
: to lift on the 19th for max, because
: I've been very happy with my lifts
: in the gym. (I'm after my personal
: lifts only, because there's no way
: on Gods' green earth I'll ever catch
: up to the record breakers or real
: heavy lifters) Anyway, have a good
: one guys!

Here is how I always trained for situations similar to this. Find another meet date, then count back in weeks from the new meet to the present week. Back off on the percents and start from there.

For instance.....I have peaked on the squat at 600 for a meet this weekend and it gets cancelled. I have a new one that is 3 weeks away and I have been going up 20 lbs a week in the squat. Back off your squat to 540 or 550 and go from there.

I was pretty successful doing it this way and the slght change in intensity kept me from peaking out.
