Muscle Grows Quicker With Milk Than Soy Porteins For Muscles Thought To Be Same
A study there found that milk protein is significantly better than soy at building muscle mass. It compared how much muscle protein young men gained after completing a heavy-weight workout followed by consumption of equivalent amounts of protein as either skim milk or a soy drink. "We were really impressed by how much greater the gains in muscle protein with milk were," says lead researcher Sarah Wilkinson. Specifically, the authors said that men who drink skim milk gain almost twice as much muscle in 10 weeks as those who drink soy. Another author said milk and soy had been considered equivalent proteins. The researchers were uncertain why milk was so much more effective. |
