Congratulations Courtney Gathright for setting new State records in Bench (275) and Total (1060) in the 181 class.

Also, Congratulations to Savannah Espinoza, Lauren Mullane, Andrea Piwko for outstanding lifts.

I am truly amazed at the strength of these girls, and as a woman in powerlifting it was great to see so many female lifters at once. If you have never been to a high school powerlifting meet it is very exciting, you should go.

High school powerlifting is really where it’s at for women’s powerlifting. Their records turn over quickly because there is just so much competition. Hopefully some of these very STRONG young women will stay in the sport and continue to set and break records in APF, WABDL and other federations and keep all of us on our toes!
