Without doubt the biggest local close season news comes from Hitchin who look as though they will be leaving Top Field - I share their supporters missgivings about an out of town site which limits the ability to gain finance from non-footballing activities & also to be part of a complex where they might not be masters of their own destiny.
It is alleged that they have gained permission from the Southern League to host matches on artifical surfaces -so it looks as though they will be housed at Baldock during the interim.
Whatever happens lets hope our near neighbours continue to flourish & provide the healthy competition that both clubs enjoy -Tony Smith
