It's a pity we lost last night, the first 3 games have been a pure pleasure to watch, really entertaining football !! Let's hope we win Saturday in the FA cup round!!
I'd like to take this opportunity of wishing Jack Nelly a speedy recovery, his on pitch injury was extremely serious, especially as he is such a promising young player, he will be missed this season.
I'd like to inform you all that we are going to really push forward on the fund raising front this year. We want to make coming down to ATFC a real family experience and raise our gates by about 50% or more!!! Everything the club earns is put directly back into the club for the benefit of the members and supporters.. so that means all of you who are reading this.
We are emailing everyone this week about a new kind of lottery !! Its a lottery for the sponsorship on the front of the shirts.
My thanks to Jim Anderson for his suggestion.. we are changing the shorts colour to light blue to try and avoid the referree from forcing us to change our kit when the lights came on. The shirts were bought from a reputable football kit manufacturer, so we would have thought there would be no problem. It's way too expensive to change all the kit, especially as the youths and ladies have also committed to it.
Thanks to Lesley, the Michael Jackson event, I am told is sold out !!
We're thinking of organising some really big events over the next 12 months, using the car park area. Any suggestions would be welcome. We have.. a beer festival.. a christmas fair (with fairgound rides).. a band competition.. a music festival, including Michael Jackson tribute.. a couple of dinners with celebrity guests... so please email me your suggestions!!
Chris Sterry has taken over from Ken Gear as Football Secretary.. Thanks to Ken for his hard work over the years.. we still see him around the club, and hopefully he will continue with his great and valuable support.
regards to all
Manny
