Well said, Terry.
There are a number of reasons why anyone would wish to remain anonymous. In my case it is because of an event that happened seven or eight years ago. I wrote a letter to a local newspaper about a matter that I thought was fairly innocuous, but it obviously upset several people. After the publication of the letter I was publicly harassed by two individuals who disagreed with me, but I ignored them. This didn't bother me until they started on my wife and children. They were not only upset, but my young children were scared by the incidents. Luckily I am big enough to take care of myself and I had no option to show these individuals the error of their ways. After that I had no more trouble.
I am not saying that anyone who disagrees with me on this message board would behave in such a way, but I like a simple, quiet life without harassment, so I remain anonymous.
This does not make any of my arguments or points of view any the less valid than those of other people.
I hope the administrator of this board respects my choice, as I would respect the choice of anyone else who disagreed with me to remain anonymous also.
Let this be an end to the debate about anonymity.
