As manager of Barton what is going on at your place is not in my best interest to tell you this but after reading the post's on Gary King I felt it was only fair that one was posted by someone who actually knows him and has worked with him at this level. I got the Barton job in Dec 2006 and at that time a lot things were against me. I was new to the area and had very little knowledge of the league. Plus at the time the team was very young and were really struggling at the level and we would of got relegated without a doubt. Now Gary lives in Barton and contacted me with the view of helping me whether it was local contact's or players in which I agreed. So from Feb. 2007 we were joint managers and avoided relegation. Then in the summer we sat down and decided to have a go at the up coming season. Which by the way was always my choice and that was the agreement. If at anytime I thought it was not working I could call a stop to it and Gary would leave. Now whether it work or not is besides the point it was the fact that I trusted Gary in a game where honesty is at a minimum. The reason he left Barton was that we let him down and not the other way. We tried to run before we could walk. And yes we would have back tomorrow and remains a friend to the club and to myself. To be fair you would struggle to find a bad word said about Him in the club. Because what you see is what you get with Gary, Hard work and honesty. If I was to tell you some of things he done at Barton while he was there you wouldn't believe me. And all done to improve the club. So before you judge him get to know him because what you have at the moment is an asset. And to discard him before exploring what he has to offer would be in my view criminal. This is my first and only post and won't be responding to questions. All the best in what ever you decide to do.
