I often peruse this forum. It is sad to see such negativity as with recent comments about the team and running of the club. If I may make a few comments that will hopefully also resonate with other forum viewers? I come down to see old mates from Arlesey about once a year, we always go to the club as I am a keen non league supporter and enjoy the non league scene. In my opinion Arlesey is a fantastic "village" club that epitomises what positive work can be achieved through endeavour and ambitious thinking. The first time I saw them was in the old ground lamb meadow 30 years ago. I was impressed then that such a relatively small town could have an admirable semi professional set up such as this.It is difficult to run a club at this level and much work goes on behind the scenes often voluntarily and unrewarded to ensure the games are played and the club remains viable. It is easy to knock people such as committee members and players when things go wrong, they are easy targets. My own club Guisborough Town from the northern league have been through similar problems to arlesey but now are more united and focused. The forum became a vehicle for much of the pernicious comments that only served to fuel damaging speculation and made our rivals laugh at our infighting over their pints of beer.We learned from the mistakes made and moved on.Unity is so important to ensure everyone moves forward as a united team, players and supporters, and I dont mean to sound patronising when I say that.I have always found the welcome at the club friendly,( Gerald in particular when he was alive)nice comfortable surroundings, the beer decent, food ok,good programme/sponsorship and the games fairly entertaining. Ticket Prices a bit expensive compared to up here, but it all helps to invest in the clubs future and keep it solvent. I look forward to coming down again and am pleased to see they have avoided relegation ths season.
