If it's true that Arlesey won't be having a reserve side in place for next season then I find that hugely disappointing.
We have a relatively poor first team at present with no other players available to call on to challenge them.
To put everything into perspective this season,
we have:
1. A handfull of decent quality players, who are actually up to this level of football.
2. No Reserve side to bring players through.
3. A likeable management team but unable to bring in better players ( be it down to lack of money or lack of contacts ).
We are struggling near the bottom of the league and if you listen to the supporters on match days they are getting stronger in their critisisms of the side. We all know the problems of the last season but things are certainly no better at all this season.
I can't believe the committee will not take the opportunity to link properly between the very promising and well run youth set up in the village and the first team. We need a proper u18's side and a reserve side to bring players through continually. This needs setting up with all urgency in my opinion.
Is Nicky Ironton actually onboard, and if so what does he actually do?
Are the club going to go with the guaranteed income from Arlesey Athletic but start to drop down the leagues or put in place the correct set up for Arlesey Town F.C to continue at this level?
