With all due respect, I'm sure no one has meant any comments to be derogatory. I'm sure you will appreciate times have changed and whereas people in general probably didn't understand mental illness and hence the term 'mental hospital' ( which you know it was refered to as ). They are no longer just locked away in an institution as was quite often the case.
With stress and mental health problems affecting people nowdays more than ever I believe people realise a lot more about the problem and in turn appreciate people need help and are also more sympathetic to patients problems. Patients are at the end of the day human beings.
Well done again for all your years in nursing.
