Certainly did a good job for 40 minutes and as with Ware on monday we ended up losing quite heavily. Didn't expect nothing from the 3 last matches against highly placed sides, so it was a bonus against Maldon to get ( and deserve ) the 3 points.
We now have our last 4 matches of the season against teams below or round about us in the league. It would be good to get a couple of victories to take us above the 50 points gained last season.
As for next season, I too hope the committee make the right decision as regards a manager. Matt has steadied the side a bit and has brought in old timers to keep the side going, but we all know that despite being good some time ago, they are too slow and don't have the legs now. Does Matt have the contacts to bring in better players during the pre-season to complement the ones that we have that are decent?
Apparently the committee are concerned that if they made Steve Cook the manager, he might up and leave if made a better offer?? I suppose they are worried by the Darren Hay saga happening again.
Whatever has happened previously shouldn't stop us moving forward again next season.
It's not easy but the right decision needs making.....good luck to those who make that decision.
