This is bad side of football as ATFC gave Darran the opportunity of football management to develop his credentials as a manager of a quality club that have won national competition, unlike his new club. He has built a young team playing quality football proving his football management potential. There is more to being a manager than what happens on the pitch including player management, finance management and diplomacy, but obviously not commitment. Darran has a lot to learn in these areas and we do not wish him success in his downward move to a doomed club. Lets hope the near old fashioned yellow neighbours play at level 4 next season and see who will be welcome at the quality and owned ground of Arlesey Town, not as at Top Field owned by the aged cows of Hitchin and in the short term nowhere to go. What happens when the narrow minded and aged cows of Hitchin go to pastures new do the calfs take control? Arlesey Town as a club will survive and hopefully be going up when the yellow birds of Hitchin are going down.
