I inherited my mother's wonderful transferware collection -I sure wish she had found this organization before she died as she would have been an active member for sure! While I am keeping certain pieces that I have room for, we just can't keep the majority of the collection. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by the thought of selling it all- I do not have the time to open an online store or sell piece by piece on ruby lane, ebay, etc. Would any of you know of any good folks/stores/etc to contact that might be interested in buying an entire collection? Or at least multiple pieces? I have a detailed list of inventory and photos. OR would welcome your opinion if this is not the best route to go. Thank you so much for any insight, much appreciated!
Hi Whitney, I am sorry you are in this position. Unfortunately, not many dealers are left buying entire collections. And it's our policy not to make specific recommendations of dealers or auction houses. My personal recommendation is auction, even though frankly recent prices have been terrible. However, we list on our web site member dealers and several auctions houses which specialize in or at least handle transferware. Also, if you will contact me directly webadmin@transcollectorsclub.org I'll provide you with information on placing an advertisement on our website and in our eNews. Regardless, you'll need some good digital images.
